Alexis Cunningham  is an indie-folk-rock powerhouse with a soulful, magnetic edge. Hailing from Huntington, West Virginia, she weaves her Appalachian roots into a sound that’s both timeless and modern—melding raw storytelling with lush melodies. Her music evokes the spirit of icons like Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow, with a fresh energy that’s all her own.

Alexis’s career took a leap forward when she collaborated with Eric Bazilian of The Hooters, where her evocative lyricism and captivating stage presence began to shine on a national stage. She later wowed audiences on NBC’s American Song Contest, showcasing her unfiltered artistry and emotional depth.

Now, with her debut album How I Became A Butterfly—a heartfelt collection crafted alongside Danny Black of Good Old War—Alexis delivers a rich tapestry of songs exploring love, resilience, and self-discovery. With every note, she invites listeners to embrace their freedom while learning from their own transformations.

Alexis competed for her home state of West Virginia on NBC's “American Song Contest” (2022) alongside artists like Allen Stone, Macy Gray, and Jewel. (featured above)
